About Me
At the heart of everything, Kara Gold-Harris is a mama, theatre artist, teaching artist, and storyteller. Born and raised in Tampa Bay, based in St. Petersburg, she has spent more than fifteen years creating, performing, and sharing stories with the community she calls home.
A graduate of Flagler College with a degree in Theatre Arts and a 2026 City of St. Petersburg Individual Artist Grant recipient, Kara has worked professionally in theatre since 2011 as a director, performer, teaching artist, administrator, stage manager, and designer. Her work has always been rooted in the same thing: bringing people together through creativity, imagination, and live storytelling.
Kara is also the creator of Musical Stories with Miss Kara, an interactive music and storytelling experience designed especially for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, young children, and their grown-ups. With her ukulele in hand, Kara combines children’s literature, live singing, original songs, movement, theatre, and imaginative play to bring stories off the page and into the room. Her Musical Stories programs can be found at schools, play spaces, community events, family programs, and birthday celebrations throughout Tampa Bay.
At the center of this work are Kara’s Sing-A-Story Adventures – children’s books transformed into interactive musical experiences through original melodies, movement, and play. Drawing on her background in theatre and arts education, Kara creates programs that invite little ones not just to listen to a story, but to become part of it.
Whether she’s performing on stage, directing a production, creating a new song from a beloved children’s book, or leading a room full of little voices in song, Kara is happiest creating experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Beyond theatre and performance, Kara’s creative curiosity has led her in many directions. Her photography portfolio includes weddings, community events, professional headshots, and family portraits, and in 2025 she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Both pursuits have deepened her appreciation for presence, connection, and storytelling – qualities she brings to every creative collaboration.
Kara continues to work across theatre, arts education, photography, and children’s programming throughout Tampa Bay while growing Musical Stories with Miss Kara and creating new ways for young audiences to experience the magic of storytelling.

Join me as I read, sing, and strum my ukulele to beloved classics and fresh new tales.
Where stories come to life through music and imagination.
Musical Stories with Miss Kara brings together Kara’s love of children’s literature, music, and live performance to create joyful, interactive experiences for little ones and their grown-ups. With her ukulele in hand, Miss Kara invites children to sing, move, explore instruments, find the rhythm, and discover just how much fun a story can be. At the heart of each program are Sing-A-Story Adventures – children’s books brought to life through original melodies.
You can find Miss Kara sharing Musical Stories at play spaces, schools, community events, family programs, and celebrations throughout Tampa Bay. Programs can be tailored for different ages, groups, and occasions, from cozy storytimes for the littlest listeners to interactive musical adventures for budding readers. Whether they’re shaking along to the beat, dancing like dinosaurs, making animal sounds, or singing along with a favorite character, children aren’t just watching and listening – they’re part of the experience.
